Residential Renovation towards nearly zero energy cities

It covers districts as a whole instead of dealing with isolated buildings. It focuses on energy efficiency and cost effectiveness and creates new business models.

This strategy will be validated in three residential districts around all Europe, under different climate conditions, financial constraints and ownership typologies. The demonstrators are located in Valladolid (Cuatro de Marzo district), Spain; Kartal-Istanbul (Yakacik district), Turkey; and Genova (Lavatrici-Pegli 3 district), Italy. All demonstrators comprise 57 000 m2 of conditioned area to be retrofitted. Innovative RES will be installed in the renovated areas.
