Sustainable Parking Solution for Smart Cities

The search for a parking space is one of the largest global time-wasters in the mobile age. The Cleverciti Systems aims to make parking space management intelligent and efficient and simultaneously reduce CO2 and NO2 emissions, thereby increasing the quality of life of motorists and citizens.

Mobiel ClevercitiThomas Hohenacker is both an entrepreneur and manager, as well as an inventor and creator of new technologies & systems. Since 2010 he has devoted himself to the topic of Smart City and Smart Apps with the objective to offer real data parking solutions and live information for drivers and cities.

Searching for a parking space is one of the last domains in our digital world, which is carried out after the principle “believe in luck”. The search for a parking space is one of the largest global time-wasters in the mobile age. In Germany there are about 50 million registered cars claiming a parking space area of 1.500 square meters daily. Most valuable land in inner cities is reserved for cars. The Cleverciti Systems aims to make parking space management intelligent and efficient and simultaneously reduce CO2 and NO2 emissions, thereby increasing the quality of life of motorists and citizens. Thomas Hohenacker developed a new sensor technology to monitor parking spaces in real time (free, occupied). Cleverciti sensors analyse, identify and measure the size of occupied and free parking spaces across a whole street or large parking spaces, motorway service areas and truck parking. They can be mounted on walls or on existing lamp posts – turning them into “smart lampposts”.

The transmitted dataset of the sensors does not contain any images or other data, that could be in conflict with any privacy issues or other issues with respect to personality rights in private or public areas. The Cleverciti Parking app guides the driver directly to free parkings spaces at his destination. And furthermore enables him to make intelligent decisions in an early stage, for example: park the car at a less busy side street and walk the last meters to you destination or use public transport. The real time data also flows into a “Cleverciti Cockpit” parking management control platform – a powerful tool to help cities organize public parking spaces more efficiently.

The vision is to create a more sustainable city-life, let citizens save precious life time, reduce pollution and traffic and consequently create positive effects for the whole community.
